Modern Thanksgiving Tablescape (Cozy and Colorful)
Thanksgiving is ane of those holidays that people who love entertaining (like me) tend to go a piddling overboard on. Especially when it comes to tablescape decor. In my book, it's completely acceptable to be a little extra during the holidays and put in the attempt for a really beautiful (but all the same simple) tablescape.
So, I partnered with Etsy to create a unique Thanksgiving dinner table that features handmade goods from my fave Etsy sellers and a handful of easy DIY ideas.Click through to see how it all came together.
When I started setting everything upwards for this, I all of a sudden felt like a kid once again. Which may seem a footling strange, merely when I was little, my brother and I would set the table for holiday dinner parties while my parents did the cooking. We'd iron the napkins, become out the 'special' dinnerware and do our best to make everything await nice. I think I remember my brother even drawing little pictures for each identify setting one twelvemonth. Nosotros both were pretty into it, to say the to the lowest degree.
And now, all these years later, I'm nevertheless very, VERY into it. I may not have my blood brother'southward doodles, but I do accept a scattering of DIY touches to pair with all the handmade items and supplies I picked up from Etsy. I swear I could accept spent a whole day browsing the site for pieces to add to the table because at that place are SO many astonishing sellers.
I used plates, cups, and silverware I already had, and then added unique details to brand things pop – like these hand stamped linens from Willow Ship and the mini gourds I picked upwards for 50 cents a piece at the grocery store. I also bought some beeswax candles and unproblematic votive cups to create a warm and cozy vibe. I dear using candles for dinner parties.
I whipped up some place cards with air dry clay, a hexagon cookie cutter, and a little pigment. And as well made clay rainbow keepsakes the aforementioned way, for guests to take home. Speaking of which…For guests, these pumpkin spice candles from Sweet Water Decor and homemade s'more than kits from Whimsy & Spice make not bad gifts for visitor to take abode. OR equally a hostess gift if y'all're heading to a family unit or friend's firm this yr.
The big floral centerpiece is a mixture of seasonal dried flowers and fresh florals in fall colors. I used a handmade ceramic bowl from Creating Condolement Lab (actually cool store based in New York) as the vessel this time and added floral cream to the bowl to make creating the centerpiece faster and easier. You just submerge the foam in h2o according to instructions, add it to the bowl, and so you can starting time sticking your flower stems straight into the foam. And then like shooting fish in a barrel!
After gathering everything up, information technology was but a affair of setting the table and bringing in the nutrient. What exercise y'all think?
